Chase Expected To Miss 4 6 Weeks

Bengals Star Ja'Marr Chase Sidelined with Hip Injury

Chase Expected to Miss 4-6 Weeks

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase suffered a hip injury in last Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons and will be out indefinitely, the team announced on Monday. The injury was initially expected to sideline Chase for 4-6 weeks, but head coach Zac Taylor confirmed on Saturday that Chase will not be placed on injured reserve.

Chase sustained the injury in the second quarter of Sunday's game when he was tackled by Falcons safety Erik Harris. Chase was able to walk off the field under his own power, but he did not return to the game. He was later diagnosed with a torn labrum in his left hip.

Chase's Absence a Blow to Bengals' Offense

Chase is one of the most dynamic receivers in the NFL, and his absence will be a major blow to the Bengals' offense. Chase led the Bengals in receiving yards (1,082) and touchdowns (9) last season, and he was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time.

With Chase out, the Bengals will likely turn to Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd to step up in his absence. Higgins had 1,091 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns last season, while Boyd had 828 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns.

The Bengals will also need to find a way to make up for Chase's production in the slot. Chase was one of the best slot receivers in the NFL last season, and his absence will leave a void in the Bengals' offense.
